This Thursday I was a little lost for inspiration for my 13 so forgive me if you don’t want to read about 13 Vs cards beginning with Q but here we go anyway.
-
Query and Echo: As you may have gathered by now I am quite a fan of the inmates. With the random discard effects from the Worlds Finest set I think there is scope for a recusion deck that uses characters as its plot twists. Slaughter Swamp and Avalon Space station allow you to both put guys back in your hand and control what discard you want to make. I think I might work on a punks deck exploiting this Idea in the near future.
-
Quentin Carnival: Being able to put an Amulet of Nabu onto a character mid-attack seems like it could be a pretty good combat trick. Attacking up the curve with your power gem weilding character trading stuns and then dropping the same gem onto your next drop to do it again is even better.
-
Quicksilver, Inhuman by Marriage: I don’t think there is much I can say about this guy that hasn’t already been plastered all over the forums needless to mention being able to ready for effectively free and still cause breakthrough is a very powerful ability.
-
Quadromobile: I really wish this card had been reprinted in DCL. I love the society and this card helped get you the occasions you needed once you binned them from your deck. Putting one of these on a 1st turn manhunter clone always felt like cheating.
-
Qward: I never got around to building the Qward deck – I didn’t really start buying Vs in any great volume until Avengers was released. I’ve always loved the idea behind this deck though and I think Nova blast abuse continues it’s spirit well.
-
Quicksilver,Terrigenesis Rebirth: Similar to the two drop this guy allows you to effectively swing twice with a big character and cause lots of breakthrough. Of coure waiting till turn 6 to do it makes this guy a little more stomach-able for your opponent.
-
Queen Lilith, Den Mother:I have always been a fan of recursion, I liked flashback and dredge in magic and the underworld and Society teams in Vs. definitely tickled my interest. The problem with the early card though was that you often had to choose between being aggressive and filling your KO pile. Lilith allowed you to do both and increase you draw quality for the next turn! Whats not to like?
-
Quinjet:An interesting card that never really saw much use. Avengers reservist had no room for equipment cards and Rick Jones did the reinforcement job at least as well if not better than this card. Flight across the board is powerful though and this card combos well with itself – perhaps if we see a reprint it will find a home in a crimelords/avengers team up in Marvel Universe.
-
Quicksilver, Speed Demon:The original attack twice speedster. Unlike his more recent incarnations this guy is understatted for his drop and cost a card to be readied. This Quicksilver though was in the same environment as Lost city which allowed for +3/+3 power ups to keep him unstunned and dish out the damage.
-
Quick Kill: Finishing move was one of the most powerful cards to come from MOR and was put to great use in the teen titans deck because it often would have spare ready characters thanks to TTG! But like Lilith Quick Kill allows you to keep attacking and still be able to stunt your opponents board presence.
-
Q Field: I don’t even remember encountering this card before searching for Q cards for this article. I imagine it could be useful shifting a Xallarap with a Sinistro ring to the visible area would give you a Thing sized defensive body on turn 3! Perhaps this card has now been surpassed by Earth-3 the extra +2 def and re-usability is probably better than drawing a card.
-
Quicksilver, Mutant Avenger: When Avengers first came out I remember, like so many others, trying to build the best Avengers team attack deck. Unfortunately it turned out that the reservist build was much stronger and hank pym, wasp and friends were stripped from the deck. Quicksilver only really kept his place because of the reservist keyword with black pantha being the usual play of choice.
-
Quagmire, Jerome Meyers: Squadron Supreme has one of the most interesting mechanics in the game. You are rewarded for having an empty hand. This guy allows you to play extra one drops to keep up the early aggression without worrying about him clogging your hand later on.
